Coral Vessels

"Out of the Sea"   -

With the combination of ceramics and corals I want to link the arising of both.  Both objects come into existence through a long time-consuming and laborious process. At the same time their arising is also opposite: ceramics are "born" in the fire, while corals "grow" in the water.

Technical information:  Vessels are thrown in porcelain, burnished and treated with terra sigillata; bisque fired around 1050 °C. Metal sulpates are used as colourants. A final firing  is done in a saggar at low temperature.

Size: 20 to 30 cm diameter, 10 to 12 cm high
